ENLEVEMENTS NOCTURNES DE CIVILS CONGOLAIS A KASIKA : LE M23 SEME LA DETRESSE A GOMA (ASADHO/FIDH)

Depuis 2 heures du matin ce jeudi 25 septembre 2025, des éléments du M23/AFC mènent une opération dans le quartier Kasika à Goma, Nord Kivu, en République Démocratique du Congo.
Ils procèdent à l’arrestation de pères de famille, de jeunes garçons et même de personnes malades, qu’ils emmènent vers une destination inconnue. Cette vague d’enlèvements plonge les familles du quartier dans une profonde détresse.

, président de l’*ASADHO et vice-président de la *FIDH, a lancé un appel à Corneille Naanga, responsable des agissements de l’Alliance Fleuve Congo, pour exiger que les droits fondamentaux des personnes arrêtées soient respectés.
Cette opération s’inscrit dans un contexte de contrôle de Goma par le M23/AFC depuis janvier 2025, marqué par des abus récurrents.
En février, des exécutions sommaires d’au moins 21 civils ont été rapportées à Kasika, ciblant des jeunes hommes soupçonnés de liens avec les forces gouvernementales ou les milices Wazalendo.
En mai, des centaines d’arrestations ont visé soldats, miliciens et prétendus criminels, avec des accusations de détentions arbitraires et de tortures.
Kasika, un bastion de résistance congolaise, reste une cible, depuis des mois, pour éliminer toute forme d’opposition civile potentielle.
La situation demeure tendue et elle s’aligne sur les pratiques documentées du M23 à Goma depuis des mois.

Since 2:00 AM this Thursday, September 25, 2025, elements of the M23/AFC have been conducting an operation in the Kasika neighborhood of Goma, North Kivu, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. They are carrying out the arrest of fathers, young boys, and even sick individuals, taking them to an unknown destination.
This wave of abductions has plunged the families in the neighborhood into deep distress.
Jean Claude Katende (https://x.com/JeanClaudekat2/status/1971091087373521188), president of *ASADHO* and vice-president of *FIDH*, has issued a call to Corneille Nangaa, a key figure responsible for the actions of the Congo River Alliance, demanding that the fundamental rights of those arrested be respected. This operation takes place within the context of M23/AFC’s control over Goma since January 2025, a period marked by recurring abuses.
In February, reports emerged of the summary execution of at least 21 civilians in Kasika, targeting young men suspected of links to government forces or the Wazalendo militias.
In May, hundreds of arrests targeted soldiers, militiamen, and alleged criminals, accompanied by accusations of arbitrary detentions and torture.
Kasika, a stronghold of Congolese resistance, has remained a target for months, aimed at eliminating any potential form of civilian opposition.
The situation remains tense and aligns with the documented practices of M23 in Goma over recent months.
